McCue have levelled up their approach to sustainability & ESG, having recently obtained Platinum Standard in the BITCNI Environmental Benchmarking Survey.

This landmark project at EPR Studios follows a stream of sustainable success for the business, achieving BREEAM Excellent, with an overall scoring of 78.9% in the project assessment. Supported by SustainIQ throughout, McCue are setting the standard high for UK construction.

Challenges McCue were facing

Prior to SustainIQ, McCue were encountering issues with data collection, centralisation and analysis. Challenges included:

Establishing set methodologies that aligned with BREEAM credit requirements to maximise potential assessment scoring.
Data being acquired in different ways across sites which was in turn impacting company-wide performance monitoring.
Reliance on confusing spreadsheets that had become overly complicated meaning decisions could not be informed from the data at hand.
Understanding and quantifying the economic impact of business decisions.
Staying apace and compliant with rapidly evolving environmental legislation due to a lack of data to support green claims.
McCue could monitor GHG emissions, but understanding energy breakdowns across scope 1, 2 & 3 to identify reduction opportunities was near impossible.
Keeping historic waste management documentation and data centralised for easy access in audits.

How did McCue use SustainIQ at EPR Studios?

Achieving BREEAM Excellent is a landmark accomplishment for any contractor. On this particular project, having SustainIQ in place helped McCue maximise scoring against certain credits. SustainIQ was used for reporting in all areas including:
